Tourist in Each Other’s Lives

– Delzetha Edith Sinclair

I  want the in-betweens
the messy
the chaotic
the you are my home
my safe space.
Not
 a weekend retreat
not a month long getaway
not my baggages are way
too much and
occupy too much space
in your already cramped existence
I want the in-between
schedules
the last seats for two ride
I want the real
the raw
not the pseudo .
I  need the vulnerable
I  dont want the motel
or five stars
check-in / checkout attitude
Not
the facade
not the thrills
not the backgrounds for show
I  want the real
the raw
I  dont want to be a tourist
in your life
thats seasonal
maybes
I  want the resident’s package:
you, me
all the in- betweens
I  want Home.
